WHAT IS FOUNDATIONS?
At Highlands Community Church, we’re committed to developing next generation leaders who are dedicated and prepared for the work of the gospel (Psalm 78:5-8). Our Foundations class program is designed to foster educational opportunities at every age bracket:
- Preschool: Potty-Trained through Pre-K
- Lower-Elementary: Kindergarden through 2nd grade
- Upper-Elementary: 3rd grade through 5th
- Teen: 6th through 12th
- Adult: All Ages

WHEN?
Foundations classes start at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday morning. Children and students meet upstairs in assigned classrooms, adults meet downstairs in the sanctuary.
Expectations and Commitments
- Discipleship – We commit to seeking God by creating a culture of:
- Biblically based teaching in alignment with the 1689 Baptist Confession
- Providing a nurturing and fun environment for our students
- Partnerships with parents in the instruction of their children
- Unity – We commit to building friendship as a Foundations Team through:
- Modeling teamwork, collaboration, and healthy relationships
- Following a Matthew 18:15-20 model of conflict management
- Reliability – We commit to sacrificing for the body by demonstrating:
- Punctuality | Teachers participate in a 9:00AM “Basecamp” meeting every Sunday morning
- Perseverance | Each teacher commits to a quarterly term of service, for consistency of teaching.
- Ownership | Teachers prioritize their class and any special projects for which they enroll
- Communication – We commit to good stewardship by:
- Reporting issues/needs/incidents to leadership when they occur
- Communicating class information weekly to parents and guardians.
